Who loves chocolate?

I do! Not as much as my hubby the chocoholic, but at certain times (you know when!) I could use an intravenous chocolate drip.

Thanks to shazzump for posting about some great giveaways. I've never won a blog giveaway. I'm crossing my fingers this time!

Victorian Motto Sampler Shoppe apparently has lots of giveaways and there are some lovely things there!

Rahenna  is giving away some of the charts that she has finished stitching. ( She's done some beautiful work on round robins. I've seen her on the yuku site. twbbroundrobins.yuku.com That's where I do all of my RRs.)

And back to the whole chocolate thought...

The Whispers of Autumn is giving away...you guessed it...CHOCOLATE! woo hoo

Wish me luck!

I tossed the craptcha codes!

Thanks Daffycat , for letting me know that my blog was using these stupid codes. Thanks to your link, I was able to figure out how to make the necessary changes. (I'm quite a blogging noob, don'tcha know.)

So, rest assured, if you wish to leave a comment you will no longer be asked to decipher ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs.

Taking a page from Joyce's book

Introducing...Hunky Friday! I thought it was such a fun idea that Joyce has on her blog, I just had to "borrow" it. tee hee

I guess I shall begin my Hunky Fridays with one of my very favorites, Gerard Butler. >insert heavy sigh here<

Enjoy!

Somebody please talk me off this ledge!!

I've been having a major burst of insanity! I have this intense desire to start placing a few stitches in each one of the projects I have kitted up. (More than 20, I'm sure.) I can't explain why I want to do this. I don't really have time to do this with all my RR deadlines. My logical mind is telling me not to. I even have a good reason not to...what if I change my mind about my fabrics? But, even with all these perfect reasons not to, my fingers are getting twitchy, and I keep fondling all of my fabrics. (I am a convicted fabric fondler. >blush< )

Why do I want to do this? Have you ever had these urges? What do you do about them?

Eeeeeek! I have to keep telling myself to walk away from the craftroom closet. Just walk away.

February TUSAL

Sorry, I'm tardy. I had a computer issue. All happy now.

Here's my TUSAL for Feb. I'm going to try to get one of my cats to pose with the jar each month. I wonder how that will work out. Bubba was quite cooperative, as you can see.

Well, ta for now. See you next new moon...

Naughtiness-Part 2 and I love Joan Elliott!

I have spent four evenings stitching only my square of my Joan Elliott round robin. I know that I should be getting all those boxes done first, but I just can't stop myself! This little fairy is turning out to be quite a quick stitch for me. (And that's saying a lot because I stitch as slow as molasses in January!)

If I'm not sucked into the scouting black hole, I may even finish her by the end of the week. If so, that'll give me about a week and a half to finish the boxes. It may still be close, however, and as the mailing date draws near I may be pulling some all-nighters.

Yes, I know it looks washed out.

I have decided that I just adore Joan Elliott!! I love the movement that her designs have, and I love how she can get so much expression in just a few small stitches. My only small gripe is that I'm not a big fan of the stair-step backstitching. I'd rather it was all smooth, the way she backstitches skin. As I stitch more of her pieces, I may experiment with smoothing it out myself. I also saw an example of a lady that backstitched with Kreinik instead. It seemed to make the jagged edges more subtle in appearance.

So, between Joan Elliott and Nora Corbett and all you fantastic stitchers out there, I have no shortage of heroes to worship!

I'm so bad!

I finished the other two RR pieces I was working on, and needed to get going on my grid for my Joan Elliott RR that kicks off on March 6. I had about 3 of the 8 boxes done, but I couldn't help myself. I had to start stitching the Fairy and the Dragon in my box. I started last night and her hair is already about halfway done. I usually don't worry about getting my own box stitched before sending it off, but I just couldn't keep my itchy little fingers away from the thread this time! I'm feeling a bit guilty and I may find myself rushing to make the mailing deadline. I'm so naughty.

RIP Whitney

I'm so sad. Whitney Houston is gone. Hers is the voice that always brings me back to my high school days. Everyone has that one sound/song/voice that transports them to one of the most pivotal times in their life. To me, that was WH.

Damn that Bobby Brown!

February WIPocalypse-No peeking, Linda!

Not as many stitches as I'd hoped for this month. Life keeps getting in the way of my needle! It hasn't helped that I've been so depressed since last Friday. I had to put one of my cats to sleep. She was the second one in 7 months. It has really beaten down on me. It'll get better soon. Buying stash helps a bit, at least temporarily.

Back to happy, stitchy things:

I received my beautiful Sweetheart Tree RR back. It is so fabulous in person! I just love it, and will post a picture soon.

I have stitched about 2/3 of my square on Erin's Mirabilia RR. My bouquet is from Spring Queen. The colors are so much brighter than I imagined!

Gridding My Joan Elliott RR

Linda's Band Sampler RR

I started gridding the boxes on my Joan Elliott RR piece. I really, really want to get my own square done first this time. I'm not sure if I'll make it, as slowly as I've been stitching lately.

I am almost done with my bands on Linda's Drawn Thread band sampler RR. I just have a few more French knot flowers to add. I've decided that French knots are just KNOT my favorite things to do. (But, they sure are pretty.)

Well, that's it for me this month. I am really looking forward to this Summer. Cub Scouts should quiet down for a while, so maybe I can stitch all through June, July, and August!?! And hopefully my other pets will stay healthy.

Happy Stitches, Everyone!
