A follower milestone and a question

Wow! I now have 40 followers! I can't believe 40 people are interested in what I have to say. And I'm sure it has nothing to do with the manly beefcakes I bribe you with share with you, right? When my husband starts tuning me out as I speak to him, I remind him that there are a lot of people out there that want to hear what I have to say, and he should consider himself lucky that he gets to hear it first-hand! tee hee

Welcome aboard!

Now a question for you...

It seems that the habit I've gotten into is only sharing pix of my actual stitching on WIPocalypse days. I need to decide if I should work harder to post more or not. On one hand I enjoy watching everyone else's projects grow, although sometimes I skip over the ones that seem to show every time they put in a thread or two. (I'm not discouraging anyone here, just managing my own time.) On the other hand, it does take a bit of time to shoot the pictures, take the memory card upstairs, upload photos, and then post. Time I should probably spend stitching. Also, I do so many round robins that those would be most of my posts. And, I sort of like saving those to surprise the ladies that I'm stitching them for when they're finished. (Also worth mentioning, I am a painfully slow stitcher in comparison to some of you.)

So, the question I post my stitching more often, or save it for WIPocalypse days or when I've had a big finish? I appreciate your opinions and want to keep my blog enjoyable for both you and me.

Inquiring minds want to know!

The Easter Bunny Mashed My Orts! (and Hunky Saturday?)

I'm a bit tardy posting for Hunky Friday as it is now Saturday evening, but I've had a rough week. Have no fear, a lovely hunk can be found at the end.

The week started out bad last Sunday when the 9-year-old boy-child launched a swear word. Not a real bad one, but he knows he's not allowed to swear. He lost electronics for the rest of the day. Fine. Monday we were having issues over dinner. Probably about eating vegetables. Can't even remember at this point, but the argument got heated and the kid batted another zinger out of the park. This time it was a reference to um, cow manure. Okay. Sent to bed early. Grounded for a day. A writing assignment of "I am not an adult. I will not swear." 20 times. Tuesday, he did something so bad that I can't even tell you about it. His father and I were absolutely stunned. And no, he didn't swear again. That would've been welcome as opposed to what he did. So, grounded for a week. No outside, no buddy's birthday party, no family fun night at the school, no Wii, very limited TV. ugh

On Thursday our Developmental Pediatrician and her team tried to tell us that the girl-child has Autism Spectrum Disorder. I absolutely disagree, and will probably get a second opinion.

At this point, I need a martini.

Instead, I went to my LNS for some retail therapy. It worked out well, as it was their Anniversary Sale!

I got a Drawn Thread chart, Butterfly Garden; a Little House thread pack, Cappuccino; some DMCs I needed for some kitting up I've been working on; also, some Kreiniks for my Band Sampler round robin with a theme of Sweetheart Tree Summer colors; and some fabrics, including a little piece of PTP Heather. Made me feel a bit better.

I was at the boy-child's school most of the day on Friday doing art projects with a couple of classes. And then Friday evening I took the Cub Scout den to the bowling alley to earn belt-loops and pins. Needless to say, I came home Friday evening and was found face-down on the bed in a puddle of drool several hours later. (That's why I missed Hunky Friday.)

So, it's new moon TUSAL time. Instead of one of the cats, Teddy was all cute and curled up in the chair. I decided to share my ORT jar with him. He was nonplussed, but unmoved. You may notice that my orts look pitiful. Well, that Easter Bunny decided to hide an egg in my jar and it mashed my pretty orts all down.

A piece of good news! I got a call today from the owner of my LNS. I filled out a door-prize entry on Thursday and I won a $25 gift certificate. Yay, Me!!

And now, for this weeks hunk, I offer to you Jason O'Mara. I am so sad that Terra Nova was cancelled. That was something the whole family was enjoying watching together. sigh

See you next week. I hope it'll be a better one for me.

I almost forgot Hunky (SciFi) Friday!

Yes, today is the day. If you recall last week, our Hunk was Nathan Fillion. He currently stars on Castle on ABC, but he used to be in a SciFi show called Firefly that I loved. There were a couple of hunky guys on that show. My particular favorite was Adam Baldwin. I've been twitterpated over this guy for years. I first noticed him in Independence Day. He played some Air Force major that I always refer to as Major Hotpants! tee hee

He has been in many things. Most recently he starred in Chuck. Loved that show!! Miss that show. :-(

If you like this guy, guess what, he's going to be starring in Monday's episode of Castle with old friend, Nathan Fillion! Enjoy!

Ich liebe das Liebster!

Sweet  Melanie the WIP Slayer has so kindly awarded me a Liebster! I'm so excited! I've been seeing the awards going around.

I'm going to copy and paste a bit here...
Liebster is a German word meaning dearest, favorite or beloved. Liebster Awards are given by bloggers to other bloggers who have fewer than 200 followers, to spread the word and help newer bloggers gain wider recognition. The award comes with four conditions:

1. Choose 5 up-and-coming blogs (with fewer than 200 followers) to award the Liebster to.

2. Show thanks to the blogger who awarded the Liebster to you by linking back to their blog.

3. Post the award on your blog. List the bloggers you are giving awards to, with links to their sites, and comment on their blog to let them know that you have give them the award.

4. Share five random facts about yourself that people don't know.

Okay, let's see here...

I would like to give Liebsters to:

Eyani Ryou (Jacqui) at Stitchy Stitches because she is a great stitchy friend, shares my love for round robins, and has terrific taste in hunks.

Autumn at The Whispers of Autumn because she has a wonderful sense of humor, comments kindly and frequently on others' blogs, loves animals, and is very generous with chocolate!

Jocelyn at Stitchy Minds Think Alike because she is a lovely and fast stitcher, takes fabulous photos of her work to share, and also is getting addicted to round robins.

Shannon at A Bit of This and That because she has fantastic taste in stitchy projects, dogs, kids, stash, and beer. ;-)

And last, but not least, Gill at Chewed Away because she loves samplers and is the amazing and astounding designer behind Dark Side of the Moon .

So, the hard part, coming up with 5 things that people don't know about me. This is difficult because I'm a rather open book. hmmm

1. I am an open book and can keep very few secrets about myself.

2. There are only a couple of people I know that can beat me at Trivial Pursuit. In other words, I know a lot of useless crap.

3. My husband decided that he wanted to marry me after I cooked stuffed Cornish hens for him.

4. I can't stop buying cross stitch fabric.  Oh wait, you knew that already. Let's try again.

4. I once dated a male stripper.

5. I have sticky notes everywhere! Sticky notes stuck to sticky notes stuck to everything else. I also have three different calendars covered in...yep, sticky notes.

Thanks again to Melanie! Enjoy your Liebsters, Ladies!
