Happy Birthday to meeeeeee!

Yes, I'm 29 again! (as if)

Thank you for all the b-day wishes! We actually did most of our celebrating yesterday. We left the kids at Grandma and Grandpa's, and were stunned at how nice and peaceful it was in the car. The dear hubby then took me out to a movie. We saw Expendables 2, full of all those wonderful action-movie hunks. Yummy! We did a little shopping: he got some shoes and I got a new purse and wallet. And then...we went out to dinner at Port Edward, where I had, get this...lobster bisque, prime rib, lobster tail, and for dessert, Bananas Foster. Wow!!!

The fun doesn't end there! Today I got a card from the hubby, and a present full of stitchy stuff. Woo hoo! Now, let me explain to you how to get the perfect stitchy birthday presents for yourselves. First you go to your LNS and get all the stuff you want, then hand the bag and some wrapping paper to your DH. He can probably handle the rest, and he'll likely be thankful that you received what you really wanted without his having to figure it out. Tee hee!

But, that's not all! I received the best birthday card ever!! My dear, sweet Jo from Serendipitous Stitching sent me my very first cross-stitched birthday card, and is it beautiful! It has beads, metallics, and variegated threads. Swoon! Jo said that the blonde mermaid is supposed to be me, and the dark-haired one is her. I love that!! Thank you so much, sweet Jo!

And, if that weren't enough, I received some fabric on Friday from Leslie's Under the Sea Fabrics, and they are absolutely exquisite! They came out even prettier than I pictured.

Ah yes, I'm a lucky girl. The only thing that could make this any better would be CHEESECAKE! Oh, Sweeeeeetieeeee...........

2nd Heroic Hunk

I don't have much time. I have lots of errands to run today because the DH and I are spending tomorrow celebrating my birthday. (The actual day is Sun., but I've got scout stuff to do on Sun. :-b ) My WIPocalypse post will probably have to wait, too.

Just dropping a quick hunk for you.

Continuing the hunky Avengers theme...today we have Jeremy Renner, who played Hawkeye in the movie. He is another that is not a favorite of mine. In fact, I've seen him in many things and, until I saw The Hurt Locker, I found him somewhat...well, creepy. But then there was Avengers. He's pretty darned cute in that movie. He is also in Bourne Legacy, but I haven't had a chance to see that yet.

I hope you enjoy Jeremy.

Hunky Hero Friday

Hello, Dears! I'm actually on time this week. Will wonders never cease?

I'm so excited that The Avengers is coming out on DVD next week. If you are one of the rare people that didn't see this movie in the theater, now's your chance. I think it was the best superhero movie in quite some time. There was a plethora of hunky heroes in it, if you're into that kind of thing. ;-) Robert Downey Jr., Jeremy Renner, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, and Mark Ruffalo were all quite hunky and heroic.

I think I will spend today and the next four Fridays on each of the best hunks of the movie.

Today I will give you my least favorite, and perhaps build up to my most favorite, if I can decide by then which one it is. Robert Downey Jr. is one of those that people either love or hate. I was never especially into him myself until he was in Iron Man. Then I was sold! I have to give him credit, too, for overcoming his very big issues. He really cleaned up his act when so few are able to get clean and stay clean. Congratulations to him. But, I digress.

Without further adieu, here's RDJ:

My favorite pic. So intense!
I'll see you next week with another superhero hunk. Have a great weekend!

I'm a Tardy TUSALer

That's getting to be a recurring theme with me, huh? I don't like being tardy, but life sure does get in the way sometimes.

Enough of that.

Honeybee is once again presenting my ort jar. Nobody else felt like cooperating with the camera or the jar. This isn't the best picture, but Bee made the funniest little expression.

I swear that jar is bottomless! I may never have to empty it.

I'll see you on Friday with a new hunk. That is, unless I'm tardy again. (Big eyeroll!)

I'm baaaack!

Did you miss me? Did you think I disappeared with some hunk? No, nothing that exciting. The entire family came down with nasty colds. I was on my rump last Friday, so no hunk last week.

However, the cold is almost gone, so I'm back with a hunk.

So this guy was a favorite of mine for quite a while, but he sort of disappeared for a couple of years. Last week, while languishing away on the couch with a kleenex stuffed up my nose, I watched Fast Five. I remember now why I liked Vin Diesel so much. And to top it off, also in the movie was Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. You should all know how I feel about that guy. Woo woo!

I hope you enjoy Vin Diesel.

Vin and The Rock--HEAVEN!

Be still my heart!

Look out below! Not for the faint of heart. Click for a bigger picture. ;-)

Happy Friday! See you on TUSAL day. And for those of you that are hermitting, have a great IHSW!

Oh, I almost forgot! Did you notice I've got over 5,000 pageviews now? How cool is that?

Tardy WIPs and Hunks

I know, I know. I'm tardy again. Being on time has never been one of my strong points. (blush)

I've been busy stitching away this month. Here are my WIPs/Finishes:

Let's start with my RAK project. You've already seen this, and I haven't added anything else, but it counts as a WIP for this month, right?? ;-)

Next, we have my RR portion of Kathy's Mirabilia piece. You saw a sneaky pic of it last time, but now it's done. I loved this one! (except for the #8 Kreinik. Blech!)

I finished my section of Debbie's Joan Elliott RR. This is Water Goddess. This piece is absolutely fantastic!

Next up is Linda's Band Sampler RR. She is doing an Indigo Rose-themed piece. Really stunning.

I finished Part 2 of the Passione Ricamo Mystery SAL, just in time to receive Part 3!

I added another 300+ stitches to the Bellydancer from Yiota's .

I started some of the shells and coral that are going in the center of my Mirabilia large-stitch RR.

Lastly, I did a bit of work on TOT from Nora. Most of you out there know what I mean, but I'm being purposely vague. This is a birthday present for a dear friend that might, possibly be reading this blog. I don't know if I'm going to get it done in time, but I'm sure gonna try.

Now, for the hunks.

I've been feeling really down this week, so I think I need some extra hunkage today. One of my very favorite hunky movies is King Arthur, starring Clive Owen. There were LOTS of hunky, manly men in this movie. Here are my favorites.

Clive Owen as King Arthur

Ioan Gryffudd as Lancelot

Mads Mikkelsen as Tristan

Ray Stevenson as Dagonet

Joel Edgerton as Gawain
Hugh Dancy as Galahad
I hope you found one that you like. I found six of them!

See you next time.
